Who We Are

Since becoming a regulatory host in 2008, Your Company Matters (YCM) has built a strong reputation as a trusted provider of insurance compliance, regulatory hosting, and FCA governance support.

We help businesses seamlessly integrate insurance services into their operations through practical compliance oversight, expert guidance, and robust governance frameworks. Our approach enables organisations to operate confidently while meeting their regulatory obligations.

YCM is directly authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) under Firm Reference Number 486123 and acts as a Principal Firm for Appointed Representatives (ARs). This position allows us to provide comprehensive regulatory oversight and support tailored to the needs of insurance businesses. 

Our experienced compliance team brings together years of expertise across insurance broking, underwriting, governance, and regulatory compliance. Led by our director, Kevan Gough, who has more than 45 years of experience in the insurance industry and over 23 years specialising in compliance, we provide practical, commercially focused solutions backed by deep regulatory knowledge.

The wider YCM team includes Chartered Insurance Institute members and professionals with extensive operational and regulatory experience, ensuring our clients receive knowledgeable, reliable, and responsive support at every stage of their journey.

WHAT WE DO

Through our regulatory hosting model, we enable firms to undertake regulated insurance activities while ensuring strong consumer protections, operational controls, and ongoing oversight.

We support two key types of firms:

  • These are established organisations that have chosen Appointed Representative status as a long-term regulatory solution. We provide the compliance infrastructure, governance framework, regulatory oversight, and expert support needed to operate insurance activities confidently and compliantly.

    This approach allows firms to concentrate on their core business, while benefiting from the expertise, resources, and reassurance that come with being part of a well-established FCA-authorised Principal Firm.

  • These are typically start-up and growing businesses with the ambition of becoming directly authorised by the FCA. Our incubation model provides a structured and compliant environment in which firms can test the viability of their business while receiving expert regulatory guidance throughout their journey.

    From day one, we work alongside firms to build the governance, compliance, and operational frameworks required for long-term success, before supporting them through their transition to direct authorisation.
